　　The highly anticipated “15th China International Pharmaceutical Ingredients Exhibition” and “2015 China International Exhibition of Contract Manufacturing Services for the Pharmaceutical Industry” (CPhI, ICSE & BioPh China 2015), together with the “10th China International Exhibition of Pharmaceutical Machinery, Packaging Equipment and Materials” and “2015 China International Exhibition of Biochemical, Analytical Instruments and Laboratory Equipment” (P-MEC, InnoPack & LABWorld China 2015), successfully concluded on June 26 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Organized by UBM EMEA and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products (CCCMHPIE), with support from UBM Sinoexpo, the events have steadily entered their fifteenth year since their joint introduction to China in 2001.

　　Fifteen Years of Steadfast Refinement, Scaling New Heights at the Exhibition

　　CPhI & P-MEC China, which has been firmly rooted in China for 15 years, has continuously expanded its reach across the entire pharmaceutical value chain, evolving into a premier industry event that encompasses nine key themes and seamlessly connects every link in the pharmaceutical supply chain. In 2015, the show, held concurrently with the FiAC food exhibition series, not only occupied all 17 halls of the Shanghai New International Expo Center but also added an additional outdoor pavilion, creating a one-stop procurement platform for food and pharmaceutical products that brings together pharmaceutical raw materials, contract manufacturing, biopharmaceuticals, natural extracts, pharmaceutical machinery, packaging materials, laboratory instruments, environmental protection and cleanroom solutions, pharmaceutical logistics, food ingredients and equipment, and health supplements.

　　On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, the exhibition set new all-time records in both exhibit space and visitor attendance: with a total display area of 150,000 square meters, it attracted more than 2,600 companies from home and abroad, drawing a total of 64,739 visitors. Over the past 15 years, CPhI has served as both a witness to and a driving force behind the rapid development of China’s pharmaceutical industry, standing side by side with the sector in mutual growth and shared prosperity.

　　Two Leading Authorities Collaborate in Depth to Host Anniversary Celebration

　　To mark the 15th anniversary of CPhI, the organizers, in collaboration with E-Pharma Manager, launched an industry-wide awards program to recognize outstanding companies that continuously strive for excellence and lead the pharmaceutical sector, as well as business leaders who have made exceptional contributions to the industry. On June 23, during the Sixth China–World Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurs Summit, the winners of four prestigious awards were announced: the 2014 Leading Enterprise in API Export, the CPhI Gold Medal Exhibitor for API Production and Trade, the Pioneer Enterprise in API Export Growth, and the Influential Figure in API Export.

　　To mark the tenth anniversary of P-MEC China, the organizers, in collaboration with HuiCong.com, launched an online photo-collection campaign themed “Ten Years of Imprints—Every Detail Counts.” During the campaign, many loyal exhibitors and visitors enthusiastically participated by uploading vintage photos, sharing cherished memories from the past decade, and reflecting on the exhibition’s evolution over the years. Through this initiative, they not only witnessed the transformation of the event but also celebrated the growth of their own companies and personal journeys.

　　The on-site forum featured a dazzling array of activities, comprehensively setting a new industry standard.

　　On-site at the exhibition, nearly 70 thematic conferences and events were held, focusing on diverse topics and industry hotspots, further enhancing the event’s appeal. Notably, signature forum series such as the “CPhI, ICSE & P-MEC China Innovation and Development Forum,” the “10th Plant Extract Industry Development and Innovation Forum,” and the “CPhI International Regulatory Q&A Session” continued to enjoy high attendance and maintain a top-tier standard this year. Renowned international speakers from the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicines & Health Products, the World Health Organization, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare, Japan’s PDMA, and other leading organizations gathered to deliver compelling presentations, providing domestic companies with more comprehensive and advantageous support for optimizing their product portfolios and strengthening their global competitiveness. Meanwhile, the “Pharmaceutical R&D Innovation and Outsourcing Management Conference” held in Hall E2 was even more dynamic than last year, particularly thanks to the vibrant exchange of ideas and brainstorming sessions between Chinese and international experts, making it a true audiovisual feast for the R&D community.

　　Meanwhile, the P-MEC pharmaceutical machinery division has also organized a series of technical summits, including the “P-MEC China Pharmaceutical Summit,” the “CPhI, ICSE & PMEC China Exhibition Innovation and Development Forum—Pharmaceutical Technology Session,” the “International Summit on Pharmaceutical Packaging and Drug Delivery Systems,” and the “GMP Facility Operations Management Forum.” The enthusiastic response from attendees underscores the pivotal role that the P-MEC China Exhibition plays in the eyes of industry professionals.

　　In addition, the three signature thematic events at the exhibition delivered impressive results: the “3rd InnoLAB Cutting-Edge Laboratory Instruments and Solutions Showcase” this year featured eight leading instrument suppliers and nine industry-leading new products, bringing together high-end offerings in a single immersive setting to provide pharmaceutical R&D and quality-control professionals with practical solutions and benchmark case studies; the “InnoPack Innovative Biologics Packaging Solutions Showcase” brought together 14 innovative packaging solutions for biologics from nine major brands, attracting enthusiastic on-site attendance; and the “NEX Natural Extract Discovery Tour,” guided by experts from the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicines and Health Products, included in-depth visits to the booths of seven extract-manufacturing companies, during which more than 30 participating domestic and international buyers were introduced to a range of the latest and most popular products, including inulin, elderberry extract, moringa, stevia, and apple polyphenols.

　　Leading the pharmaceutical industry in adopting the “Internet Plus” model to build an integrated online–offline procurement platform.

　　During the 2015 exhibition, CPhI Online (www.cphi.cn) celebrated its fifth anniversary, marking the occasion with a series of integrated online–offline events designed to engage both visitors and exhibitors. These included the platform’s signature service, the “Fifth CPhI Online Buyer Sourcing Event,” which facilitated 426 buyer–supplier meetings and resulted in the procurement of more than 1,629 product items. The inaugural “Internet Plus E-Commerce Forum for the Pharmaceutical Industry,” also hosted by CPhI Online, drew a packed audience, with speakers and attendees engaging in lively discussions on the future trends of the internet over the next five years. In addition, CPhI Online’s mobile app-based “Lucky Draw” promotion and its Polaroid photo booth attracted enthusiastic participation from both visitors and exhibitors. Over these three days, through enhanced exposure and interactive exchanges with its extensive membership base, the CPhI Online platform earned widespread recognition and high praise from the industry.
